Summary:
January has been the strongest month for Tankers since March last year. Notable increases include 5% in Crude Oil, 8% in LNG and 11% in Oil Products compared to December. Crude oil has the strongest monthly trade since its peak of 151.6 million tonnes in July, as January back up to 150 million tonnes. China’s Crude oil imports were also at 40.3 million tonnes, their highest since July. India also experience a fall in the middle of last year but has returned to a steady 20.7 million tonnes in January 2021.
