The IMF has released its latest World Economic Outlook which has been extended out to 2028. Global growth has been downgraded with the base forecast showing a fall from 3.4% in 2022 to 2.8% in 2023 and a slight recovery to 3.0% in 2024. Advanced economies are expected to see an especially pronounced slowdown from 2.7% in 2022 to 1.3% in 2023. The organisation sees the world economy entering a perilous phase of low economic growth and high financial risk.
